About This Program

This episode examines how pilots use FOR-DEC during in-flight abnormalities, how maintainers can apply the same framework when troubleshooting faults or deciding whether an aircraft is ready for return to service, and how air traffic controllers and airport operators can use structured decision-making to manage evolving operational situations. By comparing FOR-DEC to other mnemonics, we show how a shared decision model improves safety across aviation roles

TFor aviation maintenance technicians (AMTs), this same framework applies directly to troubleshooting, deferral decisions, and return-to-service judgments.
