About This Course

On Second Thought

Sponsored by Avemco, On Second Thought is a one-hour aviation safety presentation that goes beyond checklists and procedures to examine how aviators across the system think, decide, and adapt under real-world conditions. Grounded in human factors and cognitive science, the program explores how perception, workload, expectation, and subtle social pressures shape decisions—across cockpits, control rooms, hangars, flight-lines, and right seats.

Designed for pilots, aviation maintenance technicians, air traffic controllers, flight line personnel, operators, and right-seat companions, the presentation connects training to lived experience and shows how everyday human decisions interact across roles. Attendees can earn FAA WINGS Program credit while engaging in a thoughtful, safety-driven conversation that encourages lifelong learning and safer outcomes.
